Lara’s Homestead

Lara’s Homestead is the original Roodepoort House built in 1883. Originally a “Hartbeeshuisie”, our 'mas Provencal' was built in several stages over the past century and lovingly renovated in the winter of 2015 and is steeped with character & charm. The house is an ideal family holiday home with 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 lounges, dining room, farm style kitchen and lots of outdoor and indoor space. The garden is perfectly safe for children and has a BBQ lapa and rolling lawns that featured various nail biting volleyball, cricket & soccer matches. The property is protected by a devils fork palisade.

Bedrooms

Five spacious bedrooms There are 4 queen beds and two three-quarter beds. The rooms are spacious and have cupboards. 

Two comfortable bathrooms,

Lounges & Dining

Double lounge featuring a 3 seater fabric sofa, Leather 3 seater sofa 2 fabric wingback chairs, one leather tub-chair, leather armchair, 2 occasional cane chairs, with 8 seater dining room table.

There is a Jet-master fireplace in the lounge for cold winter nights.

Kitchen

Typical farm kitchen fully equipped for self-catering and features an AGA stove, electric stove, oven, kettle, fridge/freezer and microwave coffee plunger, cutlery and crockery for 12 people, pots & pans. 

Outside there is a traditional braai lapa with built in braai, potjiekos stand and garden chairs.

Nkandla Rondawel, featuring 2 three-quarter beds and an open-air bathroom, may be annexed upon request to Lara's to sleep 12 persons in total
